But its packaging is hardly what makes this ammo special. It’s M855 ammo, with 62 grain FMJ M855 “penetrator” projectiles. The frontal section of the core is made of pure steel, so it’s hard enough to punch through a layer of sheet metal up to about 660 yards away and still keep on ticking.
If you prefer to keep your M855 ammo at the range, just take care that its bullets will attract a magnet. The bullet’s relatively greater mass will also receive the best in-flight stability from a 1:8 or 1:9 barrel twist.
This ammo is loaded with military-grade brass cases. Don’t mistake their discoloration for tarnishing – these cases are heat-treated, so that discoloration is purely cosmetic. Non-corrosive Boxer primers make those new cases reloadable, too!
